Steve Loomis at ActiveCare Physical Therapy

Steve received his Bachelors of Science in Biology from the State University of New York College at Brockport in 1990. He then pursued graduate studies in Exercise Science at The University of Buffalo, and received his Masters of Physical Therapy from The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 1997. He has worked primarily in an outpatient physical therapy setting with an emphasis on orthopedic and sports medicine injuries and vestibular dysfunctions.

Steve has received advanced training in manual physical therapy and completed a year long residency with The Institute of Orthopeadic Manual Therapy in 2004. He has received additional training in Vestibular Rehabilitation, a specialty within Physical Therapy which focuses on patients with imbalance, dizziness and vertigo.

The approach he favors was developed through years of clinical experience and utilizes a foundation of sound anatomical and biomechanical principles. The emphasis of the evaluation is on a sequential process of differential diagnosis which allows the treatment to be appropriately focused to ensure exceptional outcomes and quality care.

Prior to establishing ActiveCare Physical Therapy Associates in 2005, Steve had worked in New Hampshire and North Carolina where he managed several clinics and was the coordinator of Clinical Education and Industrial Medicine at Cleveland Physical Therapy Associates. He was a member of the Cleveland County Safety Council and provided lectures regularly throughout the community and at local universities.
